After leaving his home town of North Bay, Ontario to attend Ryerson Polytechnical Institute’s Hospitality and Tourism Management program, John’s restaurant career took him from Toronto, to Collingwood to Sault Ste. Marie before eventually returning to his home town of North Bay.

 

In 1993, a career change brought him to the North Bay branch of Financial Concept Group, one of the firms that would eventually form what is now Assante Wealth Management, one of Canada’s largest wealth management firms.

 

In 1999, John earned the Certified Financial Planner ® designation offered by the Financial Planners Standards Council, and has remained a member in good standing ever since. The CFP designation is granted to those who successfully complete an extensive financial planning testing process and commit to the highest standard of ethics and continuing education.

 

Married, with two adult sons, John and his family are avid travellers and love exploring new and exciting places.
